Prayer, Service, and Community Living Worldwide to Transform Lives

Holy Spirit Abbey
Mvimwa, Tanzania

Mvimwa Abbey was founded in 1979. “The community serves the shrine where on February 7, 1888 the first canonically erected monastery of the Missionary Benedictines of St Ottilien was established, and on January 13th, 1889 the proto-martyrs of the Congregation were killed” (Source). The monks at Mvimwa are involved in building a church, running schools, developing a solar farm, foresting, aiding mothers, and working a pig house.
